Jacek Sztuka (Malerei )

25.07.2009 - 25.09.2009
A chicken in the bonnet /car bonnet/ or actually under the bonnet, on a heap of grey and rusty scrap-organism, hanged on cords, cables like on aortas or tendons of the car. It is a lifeless, but not functionless fragment. It is still in good shape, ready to be consumed. There will be no good from those remnants, however, except a few zloty for a few stone of scrap. And again, what is puzzling in these pictures is the light. There is no Baroque tension in it due to intervention of the artist. There is a kind of pervertedness, or ... depravity. Because the pictures are warm! They are not repulsive. The meat is not dripping with blood, it does not attract flies nor is it eaten by vermin. And Jacek Sztuka is a realist nevertheless. He managed to design what we now look at. The artistÂ’s sense of humour is strange in this sunshine though morbid. Perhaps it is not humour. The world of these unusual pictures is realistically painted. Jacek Sztuka is a young painter. He is obstinate in his intention to paint the world of his experience. The world of his real-unreal paintings is undoubtedly a strong artistic expression. Professor Adam Brincken (Textauszug)
